Art organization based in marseilleTradition in a Globalized WorldFrance / India projects |
Shifting Frames was conceived in 2016 by Justine Grandchamp after shifting to Mumbai from Paris six years earlier.
Having explored the vibrant contemporary art scene in the city of frantic energy, she took up the challenge of representing artists from the Indian sub-continent on an international platform and then to make discover French artists to the Indian audience. Shifting Frames is interested in the place and the integration of tradition and vernacular in a globalized world. It represents engaged artists who testify to the schizophrenia of their societies and have chosen to look into the past to depict the present. Its online presence, exhibitions in apartment, in private galleries and institutions contribute to bring its artists visibility. Shifting Frames is involved in projects between France and India. Shifting Frames partners with galeries, institutions, universities, foundations... Shifting Frames develops collaborations between French and Indian artists or craftsmen and allow them to exchange thoughts, methods and techniques. |
